PCalc Recenzje App

Najlepszy kalkulator na iPhone

Zdecydowanie najlepszy z kalkulatorów jakie widziałem na iPhonea, szczególnie dla kogoś, kto korzystał wcześniej z kalkulatorów HP. Polecam, wart swojej ceny.

Szok!

Fantastic calculator

It’s a great calculator that has so much flexibility. Hats off to the developer. I only wish the universal purchase included the Mac version. They offer the app on the Mac as a separate purchase. $10 is already on the high end for a utility app (although worth the price). I just can’t bring myself to pay it again to have the same app on the Mac.

The. Best. and. Final. Calculator. Period.

The calculator I had been using was improved and turned into useless silicon for me. So for the fourth time in ten years I was hunting for another calculator. My needs were simple, requiring only an easily addressable memory, adjustable decimal places, parentheses or RPN, and a tape that I could save. Being able to set my own color scheme and key shape/size were bonuses for eye comfort and large hands. That w BBC as my list for daily needs. As an engineer turned programmer I appreciated a big set of functions and extended customization, but for my daily at-home financial needs I had what I wanted. And three times that had been pulled out from under me. I don’t know how In my technical career that I had overlooked PCalc, but it had eluded me. Until this year. Ten minutes into my first playtime I realized I had hit the holy grail of numeric manipulation. Would it pass one last test? It needed to support split-screen and slide-over modes on my iPad. It did it better than I ever anticipated! Rotate the iPad to portrait and I’ve made it match my iPhone. Turn to landscape and I get my own customized scientific calculator. If that’s not enough, it has user-defined functions, constants and conversions! Along with registers, I’m able to replace a straightforward spreadsheet that I use every business day. A few custom keys and functions and memory is all filled in and ready to go. Don’t be scared of all the advanced stuff — and there is a lot more. If you use it right out of the box, it will still be your best and final calculator. There is no cost, so please remember to pass by the tip jar on the way out.

Best RPN so Far

I've been looking for a solid RPN calculator since switching from Android (realCalc was my go to). I can't stand the old timey/emulated look of other RPN calculators I've tried. If I wanted that I would get a real one. This app is nice and clean and just what I want. The have only thing it's missing right now is a control shortcut but I'm gonna look for a workaround.

Excellent until iOS 18.3

This is an excellent app. I created a GUI which looks like red LED’s. Unfortunately after I updated to IOS 18.3 the buttons are kind of crazy stacked over each other. The button with the 4 I cannot see because the 5 is over it. Dear team: Can you fix it?

Excellent

An excellent calculator that allows multiple features to customize to your needs. Simplify it to make it an improvement over the standard Apple calculator. Turn on features to make it fit your exact needs. Always on the home page of my phone.

Widget gone

Home Screen widget used to be great but it’s been gone for years and hasn’t been updated to keep up with iOS

Five stars!

I purchased the full version and had a question on some usage. Sent an email through help option and got reply within few minutes. Extremely useful for engineers!

Rediscover the joy of RPN

If you’ve ever had one of the classic hp calculators, you’re in for a treat. PCalc has an RPN mode that will take you back and remind you how RPN may take some getting used to but is ultimately a much better way to make accurate calculations, regardless of their complexity. And if you don’t like RPN, regular mode works great too!

Please add a new widget

The old widget doesn't work in the latest version of iOS. Bring back/rewrite the calculator widget!

PCalc is AMAZING!

iOS 18 build-in calculator redesign is a disaster. I don’t know what was Apple thinking. You can’t even do % calculations correctly there. Well, after being super frustrated with the idiocy of Apple devs and their dumb decisions regarding how calculators are supposed to work I found PCalc!!! What an amazing app. After trying the free version for couple of weeks I bought the full version and deleted the Apple’s built in Calculator. This calculator app is THE BEST! PCalc can be added to the Control center, has custom icons if you want to change the default one, and amazing themes/skins. What an amazing calculator! Thank you to the dev team who stand behind this app.

Great Calculator, the Best

This calculator does it all! Except what happened to the Widget in iPadOS 18? 18.1, still gone!

Widget

The latest update removed the widget calculator. It was nice and convenient to have. I’m not sure why it was not able to transfer and work with the latest update.

update

Please update to allow this app in control center replace in-build calculator

Widget no longer works

I live this app and loved that I could access it as a widget. That no longer works unfortunately so the app has to be launched to be used. I hope an update brings that functionality back.

Simply Superb in what it does

Everything below still stands - BUT I need the widget for IOS 18! Seldom have I come across a program of any type which can be called "Excellent', but this is the real deal. Throw out your TI, your HP, your Casio. PCalc magically transforms your phone into a state-of-the-Art customizable calculator. For all your calculating needs, be it simple, scientific, or computer science. Yes, it might be nice to have business/finance functions. But I just love this program for what it does, and at an extremely reasonable one-time cost. You can't go wrong. It even has a really handy widget for the iPad. I love it!

What happened to the widget?!?

This is absolutely the best calculator app out there, but I’m really missing its widget! Bring that back and it’s 5 stars all the way!

Widget gone

Lost widget function with iOS 18. Needs to come back.

NO DARK MODE ICON

NO DARK MODE ICON. ADD IT.

Give us our widget back!

The iOS 18 update killed the widget, please fix! Literally the only reason I paid for this app.

😕

Not ready for iOS 18? No update in a year?

Widget?

What happened to widget after iOS 18 update?

All-time champ

I’ve used PCalc for decades — first in the Mac, and then on the iPhone. The team behind it are best in class, and it shows: PCalc everything you ever need. It’s part of my essential tools.

Update

UPDATE: Seems I may have been entering data incorrectly. No issues.

Horrible excuse for a scientific calculator.

Can I get my money back.

I reviewed the wrong app. This is the one I use

PCalc is the new app I use vs PowerOne that is a subscription not worth it.

Best Calculator on the AppStore, just one complaint.

(the developer response was correct it was totally my fault, I missed that setting, thank you!) Easily the best calculator for iPad that money can buy, I just wish that the setting for the thousands separator worked as intended. Currently if you select “commas” to separate every 3 consecutive digits, the app never actually does it. It’s my only gripe considering I work in aviation, long numbers are common & I dont like seeing long strings of numbers without anything to separate them, they all just start to blend together. If I’m doing something wrong please let me know.

Terrible calculator for the price

I got this calculator years ago but deleted it because I didn’t like it. I downloaded it again to give it another try but still left disappointed. The iPhone is much more powerful than a Casio scientific calculator yet this app acts like an HP calculator made 20 years ago and doesn’t work as efficiently as a Casio calculator built in the last 5 years. I cannot input long calculations in one go, you must input everything one register at a time which is time consuming and outdated. Also the calculations are very limited. If the fraction has a square root then the answer will be either given in decimal or an approximated fraction instead of an exact value with the square root still intact in the answer. Also the multiline support is very limited. I can’t show my previous calculations except on the outdated tape mode instead of displaying it right on the multiline display like a normal modern Casio calculator. Furthermore, unless I specifically go into complex mode and input data in an inefficient way I can’t do complex calculations. Typing in root(-1) results in an error instead of the calculator outputting “i” like it should. While this layout and methodology might have been impressive 20 years ago, it is very lacking in our modern time and fails to properly utilize the power of modern smartphone processors and massive memory availability. Note: I am better used to the interface now, and while it takes more input time for long calculations, it’s still quite handy in its own way. I changed my rating to 4 stars

Best calculator

The money spent for the pro version of this is worth every penny. I use this all the time. Anything from basic calculator use to conversions to formulas… the conversions are great - always need to convert length, volume, mass. I’m glad the ipad never came with a calculator - otherwise I wouldn’t have bought this - and I use it all the time on the iphone.

Indispensable

Bought this on iOS as well as the Mac. This program is as close to flawless as I’ve seen any program be.

Best Calc I’ve ever seen

This app can do pretty much anything that the good old HP15C or 28S can do. The only function you might want that isn’t there is graphing capability, but frankly I don’t actually want that. I’ve used this for years and nothing else I’ve seen comes close!

Best calculator app

This is the best calculator app around. It is a combination of a good engineering/scientific calculator and a programmer’s calculator. The stack and RPN features are familiar and comfortable if you are accustomed to HP calculators. The app on Mac and iPhone work the same ways. It is nice to have the same app, regardless of whether I’m using the phone, pad, desktop, or laptop.

Fatal flaw for me

If I place the calculator in the background to collect figures, the calculator clears the register.. Argg If I want support I have to sign up for a social media site. Nope

Genius. Essential. Permanent home page spot.

Modifiable keyboard (main and 2nd), programmable functions, decimal/hex/octal/binary bases, keyboard/result formats for engineering , accounting, scientific, and others. Built-in conversions (pounds to ounces, miles to kilometers, etc). Constants (speed of light, local tax rate, etc). Used multiple times daily. Makes iPad/iPhone a true computer. First app I bought when I first got into Apple in 2004. Favorite of all apps. Does everything a calculator should do, and more. JT is a man with a great sense of humor. The world needs him. You need this app. 42.

Great

A great calculator, but I wish I could add a button to the control center or a widget. Please add that capability.

Hides history

No easy way to see history, which is the only reason I paid for it.

Best phone calculator as far as I know!

Wish I could still see an HP skin

Used it for years

I have used PCalc for years, probably since it was first released, and it’s still the first app I add to my systems when I get a new one, whether it’s the desktop, iPad or iPhone version. Over the years I’ve focused on the developer tools it offers, and scientific functionality, and now it’s currency conversion when we travel. I have never found another calculator that offers the same functionality, and the only thing I wished it could do was graphing of functions.

The one calculator to "rule" them all

Outstanding fully featured but user mod-able calculator that is useable by a range of users from beginners learning math thru post doctorate mathematicians.

Great Calculator

But, despite paying ten bones for a calculator app, I get a sad face because I have “tipped” $0.00 Yeah, you’re supposed to buy the calculator app AND periodically tip as well, or else we get the sad face guilt. I’ll admit it doesn’t frequently occur to me tip the devs of every software package on every device I own. I’m selfish like that. Apologies for being such a tightwad 🤷

PCalc is wonderful!

I’ve used pCalc for years and it always works great. I’ve never had any problem of any sort with it. It is just like using a physical calculator and that makes it easy and natural to use. Get pCalc, you will love it!

It's the best

Nuff said.

Good Calculator but missing equation solving

Overall it is a good calculator but one thing that is a must is support for putting in equations all at once and not one by one, for example solving physics problem such as : 6.64^-31 x 8.7^-31 and we can put that problem at once please add it.

No complex number support.

I bought the app based on the reviews comparing it to the HP 48G. After I bought one of the first things I did was take the square root of -1, it gives an error. If you don’t need functions of complex numbers and like RPN then maybe? It’s of very limited use for me.

can’t be beat

i started using rpn calculators with an hp 33s when i was in high school. everyone else had ti stuff, but rpn is the superior paradigm. every ios device needs a good rpn calculator and pcalc is that calculator.

Widget Key Click❓

Updated review, 30 January 2023: Developer’s response makes no sense; I’m referring to widget key click sounds, not currency rates. However, I did have a problem with currency rate updates several years ago… 24 December 2022: Minor bug…the ‘squeak’ key click no longer produces any sound on the PCalc widget. The ‘classic’ key click tone, however, appears to function flawlessly. Go figure…

Great app, great customer service

I’ve been using PCalc for over 15 years. It never lets me down. I’ve only had a problem with it once and it was promptly resolved. Great calculator app!

best calculator I've used

...because of the customizability! please implement 64-bit integers, it's kind of sad that the max value shown is 0xffff'ffff'ffff.

Good calculator but doesn’t allow family sharing.

…therefore one star. Disappointing.
