This has been an outstanding app since the days of System 7.x all the way to the latest iOS. Nice new icon, too.

Update: Love this calculator. RPN Yippy! I have it set up so I have my "normal" calculator on vertical mode & a custom built one on horizontal mode which is set up for currency conversions & metric/US conversions. Not that good in the notification centre.

PCalc is an excellent calculator: excellent functions, fast calculations especially in RPN mode, fast access to their stored physical constants (pi, e, etc.). I taught 12th grade AP Statistics and used it with students extensively in the Probability section of the course.

I gave it 5 stars but I hope James puts me in a T-shirt anyway. RPN is missing on many of the calculators available today. pCalc does it very well. I have used pCalc on the Mac and now iOS for quite some time. The interface has stayed intuitive throughout. Nicely done.

Suffice it to say that any calculator with a programming mode that converts a Dec -1 to a Hex -1 is close to useless as a programming calculator. Add a word length setting (e.g. 16, 32, 64) and correctly display negative numbers in hex, octal and binary and I will up vote my rating

Every time I use this app, I find another feature I can use, or another design attribute that reveals how much thought the author has put into this program.

Used to be good and still works well once it finally loads, but now it loads so slow while you watch the 42 splash screen that it is frustrating. They need to optimize it for a fast load like it was before. When I need a calculator on my phone it is because it is convenient. If it is this slow you lose the convenience. And I dont have a slow phone. I have the 6S plus.

Superb for: - base conversions and all manner of numeric - copy/paste results to other apps - tape of calculation thread - keyboard themes and editing - programmers or scientists calculator - stability and speed - wide range of built-in constants and functions If I could have only one extra app beyond what comes installed on iOS or OSX, this would be it. No kidding. This is the first basic thing I sought when I installed these systems many years ago. James Thomson at TLA does a great job. Scrupulously up to date, with frequent new feature surprises. PCalc is powerful and capable of way more than I use it for. The developer, James Thomson, is constantly working to make it better and implement the latest iOS features sensibly in the app. This app is hands-down one of the best on the App Store.

I love this app and have used it for years. Its one of the most polished apps out there and worth every penny. I also love that any time Apple announces new features or platforms I can count on PCalc embracing them. I rarely need to open the full app anymore, as the Watch extension and Notification Center widget have taken its place. Solid app all around.

This has always been the best calculator app and with constant amazing updates, it’s hard to imagine that will ever change.

Great program, but the latest version will not load.

For those of us who prefer an RPN type calculator, this app has been the best. This app allows the user to see multiple stack levels which makes using it so much nicer. Very importantly, this calculator lets people have a choice of the old RPN or the updated RPL which it calls HP48 style RPN (RPL was an improvement over basic RPN when using visible multi stack levels). The customization is excellent so you have the functions you specially want readily available. Also, thank you for listening and implementing customers comments (my request was the choice of a visible error notice instead of the vibrate). Listening to customers is what has propelled this app to be the top general calc app available (especially with so many free calc apps and the Apple supplied one).

My app of apps. Rock solid, fast, beyond intuitive. If you can have only one non-Apple app, this is it.
